When I was in high school, I could barely run a mile. I never thought one mile would seem short.
When I started running regularly for exercise, I thought races were for fast people. I never thought I would run one.
When I started running races, I thought 10K was nearly impossible. I said, "I'll never run a marathon."
When I trained for my first marathon, I thought one would be enough. I never thought I would want to do another one (or four).
When I heard about people doing triathlons, I thought it would be fun. But I never thought I could learn to swim.
I have run farther and faster, and swam farther, and biked farther, than I ever thought I could. What are YOU doing that you once thought was impossible?

Great post. Me? Losing weight driving hard toward my goal at almost 60. Plus running 1000 miles, some serious biking, kettle bells, zumba, yoga . . . .LOL
mine are almost all exactly the same as your's...except i'm still stuck on the learning to swim thing. terrifying. good for you though!!!
Awesome post! I love it :)
Currently I'm training for my first marathon (only 1 more month!!!) and I never thought I could that - NEVER! Now I start feeling it might actually be possible! :)
What I learned from running... you CAN do ANYTHING!
ditto
What has stuck me this week is thinking that I did two marathons 10 years ago...then 3 years ago ran 6 miles without planning to do a marathon. Since that 6 miler I have run 4 marathons and started Triathlon.
Yes you Can!
have a great weekend
-D
I'm with you in the "never thought I'd run a marathon"--or even want to run one! If I ever change from "I'll never do a tri" I'll let you know... :)
Great post!!! Isn't it cool? I never imagined I would ever do a triathlon either.
So true! You (and me) have come a long way!
I had no idea I would love to race as much as I do - I think though, it keeps us on our toes ;) Good luck!
I was dead set that I would never run a marathon.. even after a half, I still thought... no, I could never do that!
Look at us now!
Love it!
I never thought a former smoker/drinker/party girl like myself would be a runner, much less a triathlete.
Sounds like we're all in the same place - four years ago I couldn't picture myself running around the block, let alone training for my 4th marathon (after a summer that included three triathlons)!
Pretty much everything I do these days surprises me. From passing the RKC, to doing triathlons, to doing 1/2 marathons (full to come!), to biking for 100 miles, etc....
Life is great!
You are an inspiration! That you did all of those things while working and being a mom is even more impressive. I'm looking forward to proving to myself all over again that I can do those things.
Great post! I never thought I could run more than a minute...and I never thought I'd actually like pushing myself on the bike. Love it!
This post made me smile! I hope that you are proud of all those accomplishments, cause they're all awesome and they'll always be with you. Keep it up!
Last year I never thought that I would run more than a 5K. Who knew that I would of run several 10Ks, half marathons and a 20 miler! Last year a half marathon seemed totally out of reach. Some day I will do a marathon! Always believe!
