Some of you may know that I have been going back and forth about running Grandma's this year. And/or Twin Cities. Or both. I really wanted to run Grandma's, but worried that it may be too close to Madison. Then my mother-in-law scheduled a little overnight trip for her birthday and my mom's birthday that weekend. Which, being the good daughter/daughter-in-law I am, took Grandma's off the table.
So then I started obsessing about running Twin Cities. Which I originally thought I shouldn't run because it would mean another full marathon training cycle (which might drive my husband crazy) and because I thought we would maybe try to get knocked up again this summer. But we decided to put that off, so what's a girl to do? Run another marathon. Makes perfect sense to me.
$106.25 later and I'm registered for Twin Cities. Now if you will excuse me, I have a training plan to work on.

Wooo Hooo!!! It will be fun to follow your training. It will keep me motivated too.
Good Luck...That will be fun and a lot of work! I am hoping to do Grandmas next year!
They just suck you in don't they. Sure, your brain can rationalize why not to go forward, but the heart and the memories just pull you back!
Looking forward to follow your marathon training!! I'm sure there is a lot I can learn from you :) When is the marathon?
NICE! great call!! I did TC for the first time last year and LOVED it! Also last year my first time rolling from one marathon schedule to another, like you will do...and it worked out well. I think you will do Great! And if you are like me and happier when running (especially with a 26.2 at the end) then your husband cant complain tooo much?!?

YEAH!!!! I hear that is a great race!! And you know, just because you aren't planning to get knocked up...doesn't mean you can't practice ;)
Yay!!! Now you can run your race and look forward to another one in the near future. Can't wait to follow your training...and your race report from this one!!!
Very cool! When is it???
Hi Heather,
Go you!! I am still on the fence for Twin Cities. I think I just need a good kick in the pants:) You could try to give me a pep talk and it might help!
The good thing for you is that you will have already run one this season..you are going to do great:)
"What's a girl to do?" Well, just exactly what you did, register for a marathon! :) I'm certain I would have done the same thing. I'll definitely follow your training, maybe we can motivate each other (and Julie)! Have a great week.
This damn running stuff is addictive for sure! I'm glad I'm too old to have any more kids, at least it's easy for me to make these hard decisions of whether to race or being a baby factory! LOL
Makes total sense! Had I not gotten preggo this winter, my plan was to run a marathon this fall. Why not?
Enjoy your training!
A marathon gives you a goal to shoot for and train for and something to keep your eyes on. Now, the hard part -- training!
YAY! i love having a decision made so i can stop thinking about it and move on :)
Yes! I'm excited for you! Ah, fall marathon's...nothing like training in the summer! Ha!
Yay more training! I am almost done with this cycle, but I'm starting to lust after fall marathons myself. I've heard Twin Cities is a "must do" race, so it should be fun!
I like your reasoning!
Awesome!!! Congrats on signing up! Plenty of time to get knocked up ;)
woo hoo! twin cities.
"and because I thought we would maybe try to get knocked up again this summer. " <----- I'm lmao.
I'm still hoping to get in to the 10 mile lottery draw, so I will be there to cheer you on lady!! And if you should happen to finish 26.2 miles before I finish 10 then you don't deserve my cheering, so don't even THINK about that. ;)
