On My Mind

  • There is a half marathon on Sunday - the Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon - that I think I want to run. I would need to tack on an extra 7 miles to get 20 in (you know, marathon training and all). Should I?

  • It's snowing. I hate snow. Snow + having to look at my ex-boss in court this afternoon = me wanting to punch somebody in the face. I should consider anger management classes.

  • Starburst jelly beans are freaking delicious. I thought their season was over, but when I stopped by the grocery store to pick up (healthy) food for lunch, they were on the special sale table. Now they are in my belly. I eat them in order by color - yellow, green, pink, orange, red, then purple.

  • I picked up my bike from the bike shop last night. I am so excited to ride. Once it stops snowing. And once the wind stops blowing. So, like, you know, maybe in July???

  • I have had a productive day so far. I should really stop making this completely meaningless list and get back to work.

Happy Wednesday!

Mmmmm... Starburst jelly beans are so yummy! I eat a lot of multi-colored snacks (jelly beans, M&Ms, etc.) in order, too!

Hope to see you at the Minnetonka Half! I'll be there dogging it... just using it as a training run. I've added on miles to a race before to get my 20 miles and I think it's a great idea if you can let go of the idea that it is a "race". This race has a great t-shirt and is a nice, challenging course so I hope you decide to go. Look for me! I'll probably line up behind the 2:10 pacer.

Run Minnetonka! I ran it last year and it's a great race...a bit hilly in places but nothing you can't handle. :) Did you punch your ex-boss? I hope so...I too suffer from anger management issues, LOL. :)

I think you should do it (although snow? Really?) but I would suggest doing your extra miles before the half if possible (don't know how early it starts). I've done this a couple of times. It isn't awful doing a half marathon after a loooong warm-up run, but I find it almost impossible to motivate myself to run more after finishing a race of any distance, no matter how easy I take it. Good luck! Have fun!

Go for the half...you can do it. As for looking at your ex boss in court...yuck! Sounds stressful and unpleasant. Good luck.

Stress management??? Kettlebell swings and snatches....lots of 'em!

Jelly beans? No issue for me-I eat the black ones-makes my poop green!!

I was wondering if the eating of the jelly beans were in order of most favorite to least favorite or vice verse. Important question, I know. lol!

I hope it stops snowing for you soon. I don't know how you all do it. It drops below 55 here and I'm a total beeyotch.

Are you still planning on doing Fargo? I have my last 20 this weekend too. Might as well do it!

And I'm obsessed with the starburst jelly beans too, but they're sold out EVERYWHERE. Seriously I started looking a week and a half ago, b/c I was going to start my stockpile and they're out.

I eat them green, red, yellow, orange, purple, pink. :)

Hi Heather,
I am running in the Lake Minnetonka Half too!! Well, I might be jogging and walking part of it. I am not really ready because of lack of training. Maybe I will see you there! I hope that you are doig well!

Wondering if you decided to run the race today....sure was crappy weather for it! If you ran it, major kudos to you!!!!! I put on a third pot of coffee the second I saw a snowflake blow by my window. :)
