Oh Failure

Why is it that when I can't seem to get out to run, I also happen to completely pig out? A week of the flu (Sophie, not me) plus my husband working insane hours because of deer season apparently equals gain 100 pounds. The saddest part is that while I've been stuck in the house, we have been having the best weather we've had for at least the last month. And we probably won't see such nice weather again for 6 months. Sob.

Okay, pity party over. I'm going to call it a taper for my 5K next Sunday. Sophie is doing much better and is able to go back to daycare tomorrow. That means I'll be back to work and back to running. Thank God, because, you know what? I really like to run.

I feel the same! Everytime I am stuck in a non-running phase, I tend to pig out like crazy. It's like eating is somehow a substitute for running! It's crazy. So glad Sophie's feeling better.

Oh yeah, it's Galloway's 5th Law of Runing, didn't you know?! I, myself, have a penchant for chocolate...and peanut butter...and chocolate...when I am unable to run. I raise this peanut butter M&M to you (and me)--getting back to running. (at least my kiddos got both the regular and H1N1 flu shots to hopefully save me THAT excuse to cholocate)

Glad Sophie is feeling better!

Sucks about the missed runs, etc, especially with such nice fall weather!

I think I finished off the halloween candy last week while we were all sick. AND didn't run.

I feel your pain, girl!

Yeah when my routine gets messed up with sick kids, travel, etc, I tend to eat more and get off my running schedule...nice taper for your 5K! :)

Hopefully the nice weather streak will continue for a while.

I'm the exact same way - no exercise = eat like a pig. Doesn't make sense to me either. :S

Glad to hear Sophie is feeling better. The weather has been amazing and I think we have a few good weeks left before the sh@t hits the fan. I hope you can get out and enjoy some a good run now that you are back on track.

ooooh good luck on your 5k this weekend. I hear you about the gorgeous weather. :( I'm hoping that I can start running again on Monday (pain free, fingers crossed) and I guarentee as soon as the foot is good to go, the beautiful weather is out the door. I wouldn't mind being injured if it was snowy and icy right now. :(

Glad she's feeling better! And I'm the same way - if I can't run, I eat. Really bad combination LOL.

I hate to see great fall days wasted too. Makes me sad. Good luck with that taper and go kill that race.
