Running? Blog? What?

Can I still refer to myself as a runner if I haven't run at all the whole month of December? My running log looks so white and clean, it makes me sick. The combination of sicky coughness and then busy weekend and then nasty guardianship trial has contributed to the ugly whiteness of my running log.

Here's why I think I can still say I'm a runner: I have read the new Runner's World. That counts, right? Also, I am so pumped to start training for a spring marathon. I can't wait to get back on a schedule and have a purpose for each run. I've been working on my training plan and looking at possible races for early 2010. I'll post about all this fascinating stuff sometime soon, I'm sure. Until then, I need to put on my twenty layers of clothes, get out there and run!

You're still a runner. Sometimes life gets in the way but you will find your way back when you can. You have to get back because I am expecting to meet you for the Madison Marathon in May.

Oh yeah, you'll be back. Once a runner, always a runner. Maybe you should go to a running store for good measure?

I feel your pain, girl. I just signed up for a race in September to keep fierce ownership of that "runner" title!

I think reading Runner's World counts especially if you are laying on the couch reading it while eating a snack like I did! lol

You are too funny! You my friend are totally a runner! This is the time of year when we are all busy and sick! Excited to see what your plans are for next year - you're right, it feels so much better to have purpose! :)

I sometimes have a hard time getting back on track when I have been sick too. What works best for me is signing up for a race...makes me get off my butt. :)

I don't think people living in the midwest who are still running right now are considered runners. they are, what I like to call, INSANE. So you're fiiiiine, you're still a runner, but with brains. :p jk. Hopefully some time frees up for you so you can get back into the groove. What spring race are you thinking of?

It is not even double digit december yet. Relax!

I need to register and know I have an upcoming race to get me out the door. Especially in winter, otherwise sleeping in, coffee and pretending the dryer shrunk my clothes wins every time.

You are still a runner. you read "RUNNER'S World", after all, not "Sedentary Couch Potato's World".

December just sucks - winter weather, various phlegmy illnesses and holiday chores prevent all of us from getting out there as much as we'd like. You'll be back.
