30 Days

Since tomorrow is the last day of June and I have a morning swim planned, I think it is safe to post this - I worked out every day the month of June! I started thinking about a whole month of workouts in May, when I realized about halfway through the month that I hadn't missed a day. Then with tapering for the marathon and my back bothering me, I missed three days at the end of the month. But the seed was planted.

So what did my 30 days look like?
16 runs for a total of 68 miles (including one 5k race)
9 swims for a total of 9,500 m. (including my first ever tri!)
6 bikes for a total of 68.5 miles
5 yoga sessions
3 Jillian Michael videos
2 kettlebell classes
for a total of 29.5 hours working out

I feel great from following this schedule. I really only had a couple of days where I had to consciously do some workout in order to keep the 30 day thing going. I loved it so much, I plan to keep going into the month of July. We are traveling this weekend, so it will take a little more effort, but it is totally worth it. So here's to 31 days in July (with more running miles!) - anyone care to join me?

I would join you, as I work out in some way almost daily (or 2x) anyway...but I fear that for the protection of my mental and physical health, I have to keep the option of a total rest day open! :)

Great job! Hmm, keep it up and I'll join you in the fall. I reserve the right to be lazy when it's hot. ;o)

I have to agree with MCM Mama and Marlene. When it's hot, I don't enjoy my runs at all and my mind and body really enjoy rest days.

Me, me! I'll join you. Every day. I actually set that as a goal a few weeks ago and have been on track so far. It's really spiced up my weight loss and I mix it up a lot (running, biking, lifting at the gym, and Wii tennis or yoga if I can't get out to do one of the others).
Great workout report. And thanks for the inspiration.

You are a rockstar! I'm very impressed!
I would totally join you, but I'm being lazy right now and sticking to running and I need my rest days. But maybe, just maybe I could fit some weights in :) LOL! Have fun this weekend!

Awesome! Since we are on the same crazy schedule (tri and marathon training at the same time), I will most likely be right there with you : )

Awesome! Good work! I don't think I've ever worked out everyday. I always have one complete day with nothing...have you noticed a difference in your fitness/endurance?

Congrats again on the first tri!
