Time to Ramp It Up

Last week's training, before the new week gets too far under way:

Monday: 4.5 mile run, 10.5 mile bike (this was supposed to be my long run for the week before, but it was too hot!)
Tuesday: 3 miles easy
Wednesday: 850 m. swim
Thursday: 3 miles easy
Friday: 1000 m. open water swim, Jillian No More Trouble Zones DVD
Saturday: 22 mile bike, 3 mile run
Sunday: 11 HOT and HILLY miles

I need to get my head in marathon mode! I'm having so much fun with tri training, I haven't been too dedicatd to my long runs. But that is changing. When I was sitting in court for six hours today, I flipped my court calendar over and made a list of the weekends left between now and Twin Cities and the distances I want to hit each week. I need to make those long runs a priority. Remember when I asked you to keep me accountable. I'm ready for my bitch slap . . .

I just registered for the TC 10 Lottery today. If I get in, I'll hang around and cheer for you at the finish! With your 11 mile run, I'm sure you are on schedule for your training. Great job!

Ugh!! I know what you mean. It's so hard for me to get my distance run in! I only have one day a week that I have enough time for it so it's stressful! Plan it and do it!!

You are kicking ass and taking names!!!! RW this month has a great article on runners who are looking to do tri's!

I've had a hard time combining the two as well! Right now, i am working out twice a day most days (morning and evening) to get it all in, with days of rest from everything. It tough! One of my friends told me that my bike will improve my run, so i am banking on that, lol! Hang in there and enjoy your tri!

**SLAP SLAP**

Get those miles in, girl! The only thing at risk is your confidence on race day...don't take it lightly!

No SLAP needed, your training looks great! All the cross training will help to increase your cardio and stay injury free at the same time. Awesome job!!

Tri training sounds like so much fun. I don't blame you for not wanting to do long runs in the heat. Go get those long runs in, girl!

and watch a running movie, Saint Ralph, Spirit of the Marathon, that always gets me going.

I think you're doing a great job. 11 long hilly hot miles sounds like a long run to me. I like your variety, too.

Just went to the Chisago Tri webpage to look at some of the info...the "sprint" distance is not really a "sprint" !! the bike is 22mi. !! I still a tri rookie so when I hear that term I have a misconception of what's involved...I think thats probably true for most people..a "sprint" is not a "sprint" haha

hope ur having a gr8 week

I hear you. I'm going to have trouble getting my runs in once I'm cleared off this boot - it's been so much fun to be on the bike or in the water!
