Summer Vacation

We just returned from our annual summer family vacation with my in-laws. A week of reading while watching my daughter splash around and play in the sand, interspersed with some golf, boating, drinking, and games. Good times. While on vacation, I managed to bike 20 miles, do a bike/run brick workout, swim a little, and run just enough to break in my new shoes.

Nothing says back to reality like a long run - I'm getting up early to try to beat the heat tomorrow! Looking forward to catching up with what you all have been up to for the last week.

Welcome back Heather! Hopefully your long run won't be too terribly hot--I'm hearing thunder here as I type.

Love that photo...it really says it all, doesn't it? :)

Hope your long run went well this morning. I actually got out there myself and man was it brutally hot/humid! Make sure to take it easy recovering this afternoon!

Hi Heather,
Welcome back from vacation. It sounded like an awesome time.

I'm helping to promote the 13.1 Minneapolis on Aug. 22 and I was wondering if you could add it to your 2010 race schedule. Not sure if you're planning to run it or not, but I'm happy to offer you a free registration to entice you.

Also, if you know anyone else interested, let me know and I can pass on a discount code for the 5k or the half.

Lastly, I'm looking for 13.1 runners that have inspiring stories -- overcome significant odds, achieving a personal victory by competing, etc. Let me know if you or anyone you know fits the bill.

Thanks so much and keep running -- definitely don't want you to lose your mind:o)
