Book Club Run

Last night was the first night of book club for the year. I started the book club with some of my friends last year - we meet on the third Wednesday of the month at on of our houses. When book club is at your house, you pick the book. I decided this year, I want to run to each book club meeting (and then force my friends to drive me home afterwards, of course).

Book club was at Jenny's house last night. Jenny lives 5.2 miles from me. Perfect. The book? David Baldacci's One Summer. It pretty much sucked. How's that for a book review?

Even with an el-crapo book, a night that involves a 5 mile run, Papa Murphy's pizza, and hanging out with some great girls is not a waste. Next month's book is The Help, which I have already read and loved. I am looking forward to reading it again now after seeing the movie. What are you reading now?

i never read any interesting books. mine are always business, phycology, or leadership related. boo!

but i love that you run to your book club. however if it were me, i would show up kicking with endorphins and all my girlfriends would get sick of me talking their ears off.

That's a good idea to run to your book club! I have friends who are in book clubs, but I never join because I fear I'll get all "English professor" on them and they'll kick me out.

I'm re-reading Tina Fey's Bossypants because it made me laugh so hard the first time, I just HAD to read it again. Just as funny.

What a great idea to run to book club. Any excuse to get together with girls and wine is a good reason to me. :) I'm planning to read The Help soon!

One of my favorites is Animal Vegetable Miracle (Barbara Kingsolver).

I also loved The Forgotten Garden (Kate Morton).

I also thought The Forgotten Garden was good. I don't want to read my book club's book for this month so I'm reading one of my kids' favorite series, The Hunger Games. It gives us something to talk about and it's fun to read something that they like.

I'm not reading anything interesting right now, but I did pick up Hal Higdon's latest book about marathon training at the Twin Cities Marathon/10-Mile Expo. :)
