Oops

This morning my alarm went off at 5:45 and I got out of bed to go for a run. I put on my running clothes and put my contacts in. And then I took my contacts out, put my pjs back on, and went back to bed. Oops.

I'd like to say I have some reasonable excuse, like it was raining a torrential downpour or I was overly tired from a lack of sleep. But it was nice out. And I went to bed at 9:00 last night.

I think it comes from my attitude that my morning runs are "optional" because they are not runs on my training program. But I function so much better if I get up and exercise right away. Tomorrow I will get up early and get my swim on, and Thursday, I promise, I will do my easy morning run. So there.

AHHHH i did this kind of this morning too. woke up but just didn't go because i know i could go later. uggg... i will be paying for it when its hot - maybe that will remind me to get out of bed :)

I would LOVE to get in the habit of an occassional morning run, but like you it would be 'optional' and I know it would be hard to drag myself out of bed!

This sounds like something I would do. I am the farthest thing from a morning person, so if I try to plan a morning run..it usually doesn't happen

Dont miss your scheduled runs!!! (didnt you tell us to get on you a while back? haha) okay optional is rational...get that swim on! lol

LOL! I have done this everything I attempt to get out for an early morning run!
Maybe like Aron said, reminding yourself how hot it will be later will get you/me up the next time!

Morning runs are the best, so quiet and peaceful and then you have all day to do whatever else you wanted to do.

That's funny! I have had a few mornings like that, and I actually am I morning person. I prefer to run/workout in the morning, just to get it done before the rest of my life takes over. Good luck next time!:)

Hahahaha you made me laugh! I'm glad that is not only happening to me!!

I was just watching the 9 o'clock news. Sounds like there may be storms tomorrow morning, the swim may not happen...

Those early mornings are hard, I have found that I do a little better if I can go even 1/2 to 1 hour later.

Good Luck!

If I had a dollar for every time I've done that....well, let's say I wouldn't be working right now. Ha. We all deserve those days now and then. Hope you enjoyed the extra rest :)!

Wow contacts in and everything?

Oh how many times I've blown off a morning run. Usually I don't even make it out of bed.

Haha! Next time...just stay in bed...less trouble ;) Hope your swim went well this morning.
I really want to do more morning runs...it's SOOOOO hard!

So funny. I wrote about the very same topic today. I think you're okay, having skipped an "optional" run. I've got to get some in that category, I never thought about calling some of them "optional!" LOL

Morning running is ROUGH, but once I can actually get out of bed, I'm usually okay, but the getting out of bed is harder than it seems like it will be.

I totally support your decision! how long before you took the contacts back out? if i spend too long with my eyes open i know there's no use going back to bed...hope you got some good rest cause you deserve it!

I want to run in the morning, but I just can't make myself do it. I like sleep way too much.
