House Arrest

Sometimes life likes to screw with your training. This is one of those weeks. My husband is on his annual trip to the Boundary Waters, so I am a single parent. I had to kill five hours last night sitting at a city council meeting. And then get up super early this morning to drive four hours away for a court hearing that lasted three minutes (and then drive four hours back, of course). Although the crazy week has put a damper on my running, it has allowed me to totally nail my first week of the Hard CORE club. And I have become reacqainted with my Wii fit. Let's just call it a mini taper for my half on Saturday.

While my hubby has been away, I managed to get recruited as the newest member of his men's bowling league. I'm not sure if this is due to my widely renowned bowling prowess (highly likely) or if I should take it as a sign that I need to start shaving my upper lip. Either way, I hope my husband is as excited about little extra kid-free quality time as I am.

hope hubby is getting back soon. Congrats on being newly elected member of hubby's mens bowling league. You must be a talented bowler, or they're missing cute, cultured, talented, feminine company. My dau was the only girl on the boy's tennis team in HS (there wasn't a girl's team and they tried to accommodate her desire to play). Hope you had a good book on CD for your long sojourn in the car. I don't care how long I'm in the car if I have a good story to listen to. Oh, and I enjoy my Wii Fit, except when it goes "ooof" when I step on the scale!

Last New Years Eve, six weeks after running the NYC marathon, we were joking around on a friend's Wii fit. My Wii fit age: 72.

Hahahh hope it's not a hairy upper lip! ;) And I might not have a pineapple drink waiting for you at the finish line, but we should DEFINITELY meet up for a post-race (post shower) drink/celebration!

Lol on the bowling league! If you start shaving your upper lip, does that mean you get to stop shaving your legs? If so, I want in on that : )

Can you swim 1/2 mile in the open water yet? I am going to try again today!

Once, I got my thumb stuck in a bowling ball and had to have it removed at an ER.

Perhaps I will tell that story one day!
