At Least It's Not Snowing . . .

Every beautiful day we have had this month (and we have had A LOT of them), I have thought, "oh, is this the last one?" I have been loving the weather but live in the constant impending doom of another Minnesota winter (overly dramatic? no, never). This morning when the alarm went off for my early morning run, I opened one eye and glanced at the window. Dark. And is that rain I hear? I pulled the down comforter, recently rescued from its summer home in the bottom of the cedar chest, over my head and went back to sleep. I did manage to run after work - in the wind and rain - so it wasn't a total loss.

Anyhow . . . the weekly training recap from last week:

Monday: 3 miles easy (am), 4 miles hills (pm)
Tuesday: 3 miles easy (am), 1 hour kettlebells (pm)
Wednesday: 800 m. swim (am)
Thursday: rest day
Friday: 2 mile walk
Saturday: 5 mile race
Sunday: Jillian's No More Trouble Zones DVD

I came down with a nasty cold/sore throat/crap on Wednesday that kind of killed the week. It is still lingering . . . maybe something to do with the stress of spending my workdays with a boss who refuses to talk to me since I put my notice in two weeks ago? Yeck. Thank goodness for sweat therapy!

Absolutely agree with this line of yours; Every beautiful day we have had this month (and we have had A LOT of them), I have thought, "oh, is this the last one?" I have been loving the weather but live in the constant impending doom of another Minnesota winter (overly dramatic? no, never).

man...i'd take snowing over raining any day (and i'm pretty sure that by saying that i've cursed myself to a miserable winter...). good for you to get out there in the rain and wind!

hope you get to feeling better. and it sounds like your boss is someone you won't miss after the two weeks are up!

Running through winter is tough, rain, snow and the darkness all the time! I'm ending up a lot at the gym, which is not really fun.

Your boss is probably freaking out loosing you, don't take it personal. She is probably wondering what she did wrong and why decided to leave. Just hang in there! :)

I'd give up anything to have the opportunity to give my boss a 2 week notice! Congrats-hope that's a good thing.
We've got thunderstorms and 50-60mph winds today here! This has been the BEST October I've seen in a long time though, so NO complaints. But I'm ready for my winter fun to begin!
I hope you feel better soon!

I keep thinking the same thing about the weather! I am so dreading winter especially after how brutal last year was here in Jersey. This is the first real fall I remember in a long time!

You should move to California! Tee hee!
Sorry about the garbage boss, I know too well how that can be. But what kept me going was knowing that I would be my own boss very shortly! Sounds like you made the right choice!
Hang in there! I have a cold, too :(

Can you believe all of this cold, rain and wind? OMG! I went out on our deck and it was a total mess....there was also a few snow flakes lingering!!! IT IS HERE! I know it won't stay long but damn, I am not ready for winter yet!

Sorry to hear about your boss. Maybe it will take a day or two for the shock to wear off and reason to set in. Hang in there:)

Are you running the 10 mile or the half on Saturday? I will look for you:)
