Perfect Fall Workout

Yesterday I wanted to get out for a bike ride and a run. I managed to get a two-for-one! I picked up Jim and we took our bikes up to Hinckley to the bike trail. I hadn't ridden my new road bike since my last tri (been out on my hybrid many times with Sophie in the baby seat, though), and I was eager to take it out for a spin.

We rode 10 miles on the bike trail to the Audubon Center. There, we ditched the bikes for a little trail running.

Then it was back on the bike for 10 miles back to the trail head.

I was like the poster child for exercise-induced endorphins. I was all "the leaves are so beautiful," "the weather is so perfect," "that dead skunk smells so fresh." I'm sure Jim was ready to toss me into the completely gorgeous, crystal clear lake by which we were running. Although, it would have been nice to get in a swim . . .

Ha, ha! Love it! The cooler weather makes me happy, too. Sadly, we're having a last gasp of summer here and are expected to hit 100 again tomorrow - ugh!

omg, I was totally doing the same thing this week. But it couldn't be more beautiful out right now. This is why I live in the midwest. For the 2 weeks we have this fab weather. :p

Such a beautiful route. I drove through your neck of the woods on our way to Mille Lacs this weekend! Glad you were able to get outside and enjoy two of your favorite sports! Good luck Sunday!!

I always think about it but never say - Sophie is a beautiful name. (My mom's also, she was a beautiful woman). But the name always conveys wisdom, grace and beauty all in one.

Thanks for the mojo!

Hooray for perfect fall workouts, worth the excessive cheer! Keep in mind, we may soon be complaining about the cold weather, ha ha! I'm glad you got the chance to get out and enjoy the day biking and running. Yes, perfect!

Great day. I was right with you--I'm always commenting on how beautiful this is or how nice that is, BUT you lost me on the skunk! I HATE skunk smell.
